Have you ever made a Christian vision board?

At the beginning of each year everyone makes new goals and some even create vision boards at home to help them gain clarity on what they may want the new year to look like for them.

But have you stopped and asked GOD what is His will for your life this year?

Have you took time to pray on exactly what you should be adding to your vision board?

Don't worry if your answers are "no".

GOD sees you right where you are, and His grace is sufficient to help you through the planning process.

First take some time to sit down and write out what GOD has been laying on your heart, even the things that seem "too big", can you say #crazyfaith.

There is no specific time frame that this should take. You can even choose to fast(which I recommend, check out my Daniel Fast Post) during this time as you seek clarity on exactly what GOD is leading you to.

GOD is looking for progression not perfection, and if you're reading this you're definitely looking to grow in your faith and relationship with GOD.

Don’t beat yourself up or feel defeated if GOD leads you differently than what you expected. Trust that GOD’s grace with be with you every step of the way on whatever journey He sends you on because sometimes His will doesn’t look like the material things we put on our vision boards.

So let's start with the basics....

WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN VISION BOARD?

A Christian vision board is a vision board inspired by GOD. A board filled with what can happen when GOD’s super meets our natural.

GOD loves you and wants the best for you. He has plans to prosper you, to give you a hope and a future(Jeremiah 29:11).

He wants to be a part of every intricate detail of your life, including your goals and plans for the new year.

WHAT DO YOU PUT ON A VISION BOARD?

On a christian vision board you will write, draw, and decorate all the words, dreams, and promises GOD has given you.

If there is a phrase GOD has put in your heart this year, write it !!!

This board will be filled with words that give life and remind you on the hardest of days who you are in Christ.

And all you can accomplish with Him at the center.

You can make this as simple or elaborate as you would like, its all up to you!!!

INSPIRATION SCRIPTURES FOR YOUR VISION BOARD

Below are a few Bible verses/ themes you can add to your vision board if you’re looking for some inspiration:

“Do everything in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14

“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.” Romans 12:9

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Philippians 4:13

"Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7

“The LORD gives his people strength. The LORD blesses them with peace.” Psalm 29:11

“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.” Psalm 37:5

“But don’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you. For God the Father has given me the seal of his approval.” John 6:27

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT VISION AND GOALS?

I definitely believe that vision boards are biblical. In Habakkuk 2:2 it tells us “And the LORD answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.”

Proverbs 29:18 tell us “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

GOD wants to be apart of every area of our life especially our thoughts, visions, and dreams.

He wants us to write them down so we know exactly what we are striving for, and can look back on all the promises He has fulfilled for us.

Doing this allows us to remember in the waves how GOD has kept us anchored before, and how He can do it again.

He is with us cheering us on, pushing us when things are tough, and helping us day by day become the best versions of ourselves.

DO VISION BOARDS ACTUALLY WORK?

This is controversial but yes they work, if you work.

Vision boards aren't just meant to be a pretty board for you to aimlessly look at and create because “that’s what everyone does at the top of the year”.

It's actually a guide, a reference sheet.

It's actually something to look at when you need to remember.

When you need to remember "your why" on those tough days when you just want to throw in the towel.

Remembering the promise, helps you through the valley moments.

"A mans heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9

WHERE SHOULD YOU PLACE YOUR VISION BOARD?

DIGITAL VISION BOARD

Make a digital vision board, print it out, and have a copy in your photos, notes section in your phone, make it a screen saver if you have too.

The perfect site to create your digital vision board is Canva, hands down. They have a free version and it is so simple to use.

I use Canva daily to help content creators and business owners turn their ideas into brands, and we all love it. Having the PRO version allows you to access more fonts, elements, photos, and graphics which I highly recommend.

Canva Pro has a wide variety of layouts, templates, and photo filters, to make designing simple. Canva is a drag-and-drop software, so it is easy for everyone to use(my five-year-old uses it).

Canva Pro is super affordable and worth every cent if creating is a major part of your life and business.

PHYSICAL VISION BOARD

I would recommend that you place your physical board in a high traffic spot in your home where you can see it constantly throughout the day.

When you're going to the fridge, you see the promise.

Headed to the bathroom, you have to pass by the promise.

About to go to bed, there's the promise.

Do you get my drift? You want to place it where it is in your line of sight constantly.

Remember we should meditate on His word day and night.

MAKING YOUR CHRISTIAN VISION BOARD

Creating your Christian vision board can be fun, exciting, and the very motivation you need to have your best year yet.

The main thing to remember when creating a Christian vision board is that you are not "receiving things in your own power". We are fully leaning and trusting GOD to direct our paths and His word to keep us motivated and focused on His truth.
